A Brief Insight.......

I am a passionate artist. I do not simply create, but I feel my creations. My passion for the subject has helped me enhance my skill and grow as an artist. As I am still studying, I strive to learn and understand the techniques and styles of others, and in any possible way applying that to my own way of thinking to improve myself. I thrive on working in an environment surrounded by other creative individuals and enjoy seeing how they think and approach topics, often being the same topic I am looking at. I also enjoy looking at the works of more established artists, I always seem to feel a massive sense of intrigue in their works when visiting galleries, with a thousand questions popping into my head that can never be answered.

I want to study art as it is my main focus in life. The majority of my life has been focused on some level of art form. Nothing has ever given me a greater joy. To pursue a career in this field would be so fulfilling. I feel Manchester Metropolitan University can offer me a great deal on this front which is why I have chosen to apply here. The main attractions to this particular institution to me was that it allows students to work in which ever media or specialist field they would like. Many other institutions ask students to specialise and I think I would feel trapped in that environment. Whereas at MMU, it seems a lot more flexible, and I think that is one of the main aspects of being an artist, freedom.

I have chosen to show you a selection of my work which best shows my skill levels in many media. I am currently working on more adventurous installation works which I have not chosen to add as they are currently works in progress. Each of the pieces below has a story behind the piece which I would hope to be able to talk about in interview.
